What's the Difference between an index / not indexed Link?

first option is to index the link when you copy paste it into the chat

second option is to skip that and not index it and let the chat do its thing.

HOW does the second option work?
1st option index it then probably do a similarity search. (so it doesn’t summarize the whole thing)
BUT what does the 2nd option do?

If you index the link, we’ll scrape it and put the contents in the AI’s context. If you don’t index the link, it’s just treated like plain text.
